cat finds no ghosts in 
humidifier’s mist but
remains vigilant

with hard Mountain Dew,
resistance to drunkenness
is less than futile

fluffy menace (cat)
guards cardboard cat cave from in-
-truders, recyclers

cat lies on the floor
and exposes snaggletooth
that snags my heartstrings

cat calls me into
his office, says demand for 
scratches is rising

held like human child,
cat extends tongue to petit-
-ion freedom, not food

cat wants me to share
my joy with her, use my hands
for pets, not photos

delivered: box of
gray, furry, purring tofu. 
it’s too cute to eat

cradled cat, cranky
about cuddles, scowls and con-
-templates breaking out

laundry basket holds
cat, warm and fluffy without
going in dryer
