squirrel, distracted
by snack, captured forever
in Camera Roll

I made two carts to
go under my bed. alas,
the cats dislike them

my muse requests pats,
a fair price for inspiring
my insta poems

Adelaide worries
I might put her between bread,
eat the sandwich

ashes to ashes 
leave torn to shreds underfoot
will become leaf dust

garbage tableau; shoe,
in step with pallets, waiting
to be carted off

leafy tarpaulin 
looks treacherously solid,
dry (from a distance)

stump, safely buried,
has not been transformed into 
a coffee table

few sunflowers near
lake hold petals, most neighbors’ 
heads are bald and dry

found new offering
to our friend Robert, hopeful-
-ly without backwash
