my favorite park
last Dumpscovery Day. hope
to see it again.

stump, safely buried,
has not been transformed into 
a coffee table

fallen leaves, ground down 
against sidewalk, shall return
borrowed nitrogen

few sunflowers near
lake hold petals, most neighbors’ 
heads are bald and dry

leaves changing color
reframe too-familiar lake
I walk ‘round again

bunny or apple?
roommate is sculpting our snacks
nutrition and art!

Kyp sits on poem
donating cat hair to my
creative process

found new offering
to our friend Robert, hopeful-
-ly without backwash

mischievous Kyp
hunts for thread but captures my
heart instead. that face!

flowers, seen two weeks
ago, brought fall color to
their concrete planter
