roaring with tiger
lilies that blossom’d after
their shorter cousins

firefly hides from
phone between ground cover, vines, 
bright summer twilight

sun setting over
Lake Anne; idyll except for
the humidity

walked into lake
zero times, and into trees
only once. success!

walking club steps out
again, this time towards great
gelato, sorbet

recycling parts of
Box Mountain: not mountaintop
removal, better.

Actual mountaintop removal is horrible!

today: vines sucking
the life out of some poor tree
rooted near Lake Anne

saw chipmunk—so cute! 
—pulled phone from bag, but alas,
it had run away
